Predator Camp

“Predator Camp” will be available at the end of the month here and will make its official debut at Anthrocon. The book contains every strip from the calendar year of 2011, plus the running commentary provided by Lindesfarne’s Blog as she adds background details to each story. Stephanie Gladden of “Girls of Monster Paradise” has graciously agreed to write the foreword.

Speaking of Anthrocon, here’s my con schedule for the summer. My plans have firmed up, and I’ll definitely be attending the following:
Anthrocon, Pittsburgh PA July 5-7 Table N-18
Comic-Con, San Diego CA July 18-21 Table N-12, Small Press Pavilion
Otakon, Baltimore MD, Aug. 9-11
DragonCon, Atlanta GA, Aug. 30-Sept. 2
(For the cons in San Diego, Baltimore and Atlanta I’ll be accompanied by Dethany and Lenore.)

Dethany in Virtu/Noir

I’m creating an interactive app featuring Dethany of “On the Fastrack” as she adopts a 1940s private eye persona and solves a crime in cyberspace. It will be called “Dethany in Virtu/Noir” and readers will be able to make choices determining the direction of the plot. You can watch its development on its Tumblr blog.

This year’s Kevin & Kell Social

Every year since 2001, the Anthrocon convention has been the site of the annual “Kevin & Kell” patron social where supporters of the strip gather for a friendly meal and warm company. This year we will meet again, Friday, July 5 at 7:00 at August Henry’s, across the street from Pittsburg’s convention center where Anthrocon is held. However, for this year we will have a change in focus. Instead of the “K&K” Social it will be the Kerry O’Day Social. Kerry’s final wishes were to be cremated and to forego a memorial service, but I wanted to do something to bring closure for those of us whose lives she touched. I ask that everyone attending have a Kerry story to tell. Of course, for most “K&K” readers the story will invariably be “I ordered the books and received them without a hitch.” :)

Duel in the Somme

Duel in the Somme,” the comic book that I illustrated in 2010, is available for the Kindle here. That wasn’t my first long-form comic, though. Way back in 1979 I did a 24-page comic book for my college paper, The Auburn Plainsman. You can see it in its entirety here.

The main news this week, above and beyond all else, has been the “Kevin & Kell” website. Its server experienced a catastrophic failure, and the heroic gang at Team Kevin & Kell is rebuilding newer and better than ever. Please join me in thanking them, particularly the webmaster Chris Kohler. A basic page is up and running at its normal URL, or you can view the strips either on Rudy’s Facebook page, or on Lindesfarne’s Virtual Quill on Tumblr. Thanks for your patience and readership!

Finally, the Bill Holbrook site is now live here. At this central portal you will be able to conveniently access the existing sites of all three of my strips, plus the New Bill Holbrook Store. Every weekend I’ll update the news section, and it also has links to all the social media outlets that my characters are writing. Please explore, and I hope it’s a pleasant surfing experience.
